PANELISTS
Alissa Figueroa is an Emmy-nominated journalist, filmmaker and lecturer at Morgan State University in Baltimore. She previously directed the Ida B. Wells Fellowship for investigative journalists of color at Type Investigations. Prior, she was an investigative producer at Fusion, where documentaries she directed won the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and the NABJ Salute to Excellence Award among others. She’s a 2020-21 Knight-Wallace Reporting Fellow and 2022 Film Independent Fellow.
Mohammed Ali Naqvi is a filmmaker, recipient of the Emmy’s Television Academy™ Honor and a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Recent credits include Netflix Global Top 10 hit series “Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror'', Asian Media Award winner “The Accused: Damned Or Devoted?” (BBC, ZDF/Arte) and Independent Spirit Award nominee “Among the Believers” (PBS).
Oriana Zill de Granados is an award-winning producer at CBS News 60 Minutes, working on investigative stories. Previously, she spent ten years producing films for PBS Frontline. Her work has been honored with the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award, a Peabody Award, and numerous Writer's Guild Awards and Emmy Awards.
